INDOOR BOWLING SECTION PRESIDENT'S REPORT 2005
It is my pleasure to present the Papakura RSA Indoor Bowling Club 48th report.
Firstly I would like to thank my committee for their help and co-operation during the year. Special thanks to Joy Nickolson for the marvellous job she has done as secretary/treasurer. To the match convenors and helpers, to Des Rosemary for putting the mats down. To Doris who has done a fine job on raffles. Thank you all.
Sadly we report the demise of two of our valued members. Our thoughts go out to any members who are unwell or sick. Please notify our Welfare member if anyone is sick.
Our Women's Section Tournament was won by a Papakura team skipped by Melva Stobie. The RSA Interclub Challenge was won by a Papakura team skipped by Les Matthews. Several teams went to Howick to play in the Coronation Cup.
Wednesday afternoon bowls run by Les Matthews are very well supported and enjoyable. Summer bowls were very pleasant evenings run by Les and Rosemary.
Social - Bus trips to Pt Chev - E C Bays - Radio Club. We had a visit from Mt Manganui. They came for the weekend and spent the Saturday with us playing bowls and the next day at Howick.
Our prizegiving and dinner went off well. David Lind and his wife were the entertainment. We do appreciate the services of Dean the caters and his staff.
Congratulations to all winners of club competitions - nice to see our new players among the winners. Our Tournaments were very well supported which is very encouraging for the club. With appreciation of our members to the President, Executive and staff of Papakura RSA.
